Are there books where a depressed/suicidal person is very far in the trenches but has one person they still care about. Towards the end everything plummets and the person really wants to go.
They still know they couldn’t commit without being certain their specific someone (preferably a friend or a family member, not too into romance but its okay) wouldn’t be angry at them for that choice.
So they end up asking their loved one for ”permission” to go. In a gut wrenching way.
Not sure if this is too niche hah but giving it a try
