Hello everyone, I'm a movie/ show junkie and I'm trying to get into reading. English isn't my first language and I mainly learned it from YouTube and movies, I technically can finish a book in English -I can also finish a 12-season English show with English subtitles and perfectly enjoy it- but I have a hard time enjoying reading, as when I read long descriptive prose and there's too many new vocabulary eventually I lose the spark even if the book itself has an interesting idea. Can someone tell me how I can overcome a problem like that?
I've been struggling with this since over a year now and I'm really trying to get into reading and not miss out on all the amazing novels and stories out there. I'd love to know about some easy prose novels out there that are still deep and meaningful and great for making me think deeply. In shows, I love supernatural but not horror, romantic comedies, and overall with good characterizations and interesting plots, and also I'd love something that is more on the action side than the long descriptive prose to bridge the gap between movies/shows and books.
Thank you all.

Maybe try The Running Man by Stephen King? An action dystopian book about a guy that signs on for a televised contest to survive for a month while people try to kill him. As far as I remember it’s written very simply.
Otherwise John Steinbeck is always thought of to write with simple prose as well. To see if you like his style I’d recommend either starting with Of Mice and Men or The Pearl since they’re shorter and you can see if his style works for you.
