This is a strange question but does anyone have any book recommendations on topics like manifestation and positive thinking that are not BS self-help books that were written by people unqualified in the subject matter? I am a pretty logical person, not religious at all, and generally pretty skeptical. My problem is that my mind always goes to worst case scenario, I'm always making back-up plans, and I'm always suspicious, and always thinking of all the ways that the universe is unfair. I am trying to change my thinking to have a bit of a more positive attitude as I navigate some curve balls that have been thrown my way over the last few months. I want to be able to think like those positive-minded people who naturally think that things will work out for them. Are there any legit neuroscience/psychology/psychiatry/any kind of real science based books out there? (and no hate, but not 'quantum mechanics' as 'studied' by a chiropractor named Joe Dispenza)

If you’re talking about getting control of your own mind and feelings, the entire field of cognitive behavioral therapy is for this. The first book I read on the subject was How to Stubbornly Refuse to Make Yourself Miserable About Anything by Albert Ellis.
Manifestation is the idea that you can make something appear by thinking about it enough, and I’m skeptical about it because in a full year of being a sixteen year old boy who read way too many comic books, I met Catwoman exactly zero times.
The Intention Experiment by Lynne McTaggart
