Does anyone know what I mean? Forgive me, I’m sure I am not explaining this right and I’m even more sure there’s a name for this.
But I love authors who use a writing style that involves them basically redefining words to fit their purpose. I don’t have an example in mind, but i love reading a sentence and seeing for instance a noun be used as a verb and still, totally understanding what is being conveyed without missing a beat.
I’d take any genre, but my big turn offs (right now! i’ll be in a different mood in some time) is melodramatic romance or sensationalist war stories. Two very different ends of the spectrum, I know lol
