I have a problem. I am hyperfixated on the bible. I am not Christian.
When I was into Greek Mythology, it was easy ‘cause I had Percy Jackson. With the bible it’s a lot harder because most of the media surrounding it is by people who practice the religion. It can be a bit of a drag to read a story when you know that the underlying theme and motive will always be the same, and that certain lines are never going to be crossed.
I have read stuff like Dante’s inferno and Good Omens, but it doesn’t scratch the particular itch I’m reaching for. I’m not quite as interested in the mythology (demons, angels, etc.) as I am in the characters. Particularly Moses and Jesus. This is where it gets REALLY hard to find stuff written by non-Christians.
TLDR: I want a story that focuses on Jesus or Moses, but explores them in a non-reverent way.

This might be an obvious choice but The Chronicles of Narnia is basically just bible fanfiction.
Wikipedia has an article on [Bible fiction](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bible_fiction) which might hit some of what you’re looking for.
A couple of examples that stand out to me from the list are Philip Pullman’s The Good Man Jesus and the Scoundrel Christ, Naomi Alderman’s The Liars’ Gospel, or Colm Toibin’s The Testament of Mary.
Anne Rice also wrote a couple of books about Jesus, Christ the Lord: Out of Egypt and Christ the Lord: The Road to Cana
THE LIAR’S GOSPEL by Naomi Alderman is terrific.
Geraldine Brooks wrote **The Secret Chord,** which is about King David?
