Just closed Onyx Storm and I'm genuinely bereft. The wait for Book 4 is going to be brutal.
What I loved about the Empyrean series: the enemies-to-lovers tension (Xaden specifically), the dragon bond, the war college setting, and the fact that the plot actually surprised me multiple times. I don't mind slow burns at all — the payoff in Iron Flame was worth every page.
What I've already read: ACOTAR (loved it), The Cruel Prince (also loved it), From Blood and Ash (enjoyed it).
Looking for anything that scratches the same itch — fantasy, romantasy, or even just a really gripping series with a morally grey love interest. Open to anything.
