any genre is fine, bonus if it’s lgbt+ / fantasy though. I love when the bad guy turned good ends up close friends/falling for a comedic relief/sunshine character. (can be side characters or the protagonist involved, idc). the reformed antagonist doesn’t have to be a true villain or anything either, just opposing in someway. I’d consider it enemies to lovers/friends adjacent? also okay if it’s a kid and the reformed character forming a bond too.

more bonus points if the other characters are side eyeing the reformed character in concern that they’ll turn but nope, they are ride or die for them

examples from shows that I can think of off the top of my head: sokka/zuko as a ship/friendship, aang&zuko as friends, scar and mei in fullmetal alchemist,

    1. Light from Uncommon Stars by Ryka Aoki. A violin teacher has made a deal with a devil that requires her to deliver seven souls to hell. She takes up a seventh student, a young trans woman who’s been thrown out by her parents. The teacher is amazed at how kind and caring her student is even though she’s been through so much.
