I have a hard time visualizing descriptions of sceneries and what a place looks like, such as how the furniture is organized in a room, or how roads and shops and ponds are positioned in a village. But I can easily immerse myself in descriptions of smell, taste, touch/texture. I just can't imagine things that I haven't seen irl. I can, but it takes so much energy and racking my brain that I have to eventually put the book down. This is probably why I did not enjoy The Snow Child as much as other readers did, and could not feel "cozy" reading it.

I enjoy conversation, world-building in terms of rules and logic, and inner monologue in books. Books that I finished and enjoyed are Eleanor and Park, 1984, Flowers for Algernon, Before I Fall, Never Let Me Go, A Short Stay in Hell, Mr. Mercedes, Confessions About Colton, We Were Liars, And Then There Were None.

Please recommend me some addictive books that are easy to visualize. Can be romance, mystery, horror, as long as the experience is memorable. 🙂
