I travel solo a lot for work, so at my brother's suggestion I started reading in hotel rooms on the evenings as something to do after getting bored of Netflix. He gave me some great suggestions and I have been addicted since.
I primarily read the eBook while also listening to the audiobook at the same time. I also drive a lot for work, so I listen to audiobooks while on long journeys, so I'd like something that's still engaging without having the text in front of me at the same time.
I won't list every individual book I've read, but here are the series that I really enjoyed.
– Mistborn (era 1 & 2)
– Stormlight Archive (including many of the side books)
– Cosmere one-offs like Tress and Yumi
– Dungeon Crawler Carl
– Operation Bounce House
– Bobiverse
– Ready Player One (skipped two as I heard bad reviews)
– Dark Matter
– The Will of the Many (currently half way through Strength of the Few)
– Project Hail Mary & The Martian
Books I tried but couldn't get into.
– Red Rising; I finished book one, I really liked it up until Darrow actually entered the institute, but sort of lost interest after that. I wanted to see more about how he was transformed, but it felt like that was glossed over.
– He Who Fights With Monsters: maybe it's because I had just finished DCC, but I just didn't like it.
– The Blade Itself: again, I may come back to this one. I think I just wasn't in the mood for it at the time.
– Murderbot Diaries: I read book 1. Seemed okay, but nothing really compelled me to continue afterwards.

based in your list id definitely recommend the expanse series – space politics and realistic sci fi that works great as audiobooks since the narration is solid. also maybe check out the cradle series by will wight, its progression fantasy like DCC but different enough that it shouldnt feel repetitive
if you liked project hail mary you might enjoy klara and the sun or recursion, both have that same kind of thoughtful sci fi vibe but different enough to keep things fresh
The Dark Tower series by Stephen King is excellent
A Song of Ice and Fire by George RR Martin is worth your time even if it is never finished. It’s close to perfect.
I did not regret taking my wife’s advice and reading Harry Potter. It was a very enjoyable experience.
The Expanse series by James SA Corey is required reading for redditors.
