Help me find a standout book!

For the past few years, I’ve had a book that I felt like stood out compared to the others I’ve read. They are:

• A Novel Obsession by Caitlin Barasch (2022)
• Notes on an Execution by Danya Kukafa (2023)
• The Butterfly Garden by Dot Hutchison (2024)
• Every Summer After by Carley Fortune (2025)

I don’t feel like I’ve found The One for 2026. So far this year I’ve read:

• Ask for Andrea
• Guess Again
• Favorite Half Night Stand
• Listen for the Lie
• Dark Matter
• Heartstrings 
• Get a life Chloe Brown
• The Golden Couple
• She Didn’t See It Coming
• Just for the Summer 

I don’t care for horror, sad books (ex. Kristin Hannah), fantasy, or sci-fi.

I tend to go for mystery/thrillers and romance, but I also enjoy historical fiction (as long as it isn’t sad).
