    hello.

I wanted to ask you for help finding some books for my sister (who's 30+). She recently read "Will You Be There?" by Guillaume Musso, and I haven't seen her this happy with a book in ages, so I got her a few more books by this author for her birthday. She liked them all, although I know why the first one remains her favorite.

So, let me list the keywords I'm looking for:
    – A plot set in a warm, atmospheric location; in this case, it was probably San Francisco and Malibu, palm trees, and all that. A bonus for setting the plot in the last century, the 1960s/70s/80s.
    – A plot with A Concept (even if cliched); a beginning, middle, and ending. A clear ending that wraps up the story, and a story with a mystery*, slowly revealing details. Everything happens for a reason, there's not much philosophizing, and the characters are so… human (but I also know that too much dialogue irritates her).
*The mystery doesn't have to be a crime novel necessarily (it's often too dark and tough). In this first book, the protagonist discovers the ability to travel back in time (she's not a fan of sci-fi, but this one was very unobtrusive). It involves both the loss/regaining of love and the issue of saving one's life (quitting smoking), so, as I mentioned, human themes.

I don't know what else to add, but I'd be grateful for your suggestions 🙂
Oh, I know – she also recently read two books by Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt and liked them, but not as much as Musso.
