needs recommendations for tomorrow !!

im having a super long road trip/ day in general tomorrow. i NEED a book to read.

here are my top 5 favs;

Mistborn (slash Stormlight Archive and Brandon Sandersons whole like cosmere)
The Poppy War
Project Hail Mary
Skulduggery Pleasant
The Gone Series

As you can see, i have mostly leaded towards fantasy, though i read PHM and absolutely loved the part where Grace first meets rocky. It was just soo much mystery and whimsy and intrigue and made me remember how much i love space and science. But i also LOVE Stratt, and the other side of the book with the fear and loneliness and that deep betrayal which honestly they couldve leaned on even more.

I recently tried to start a new fantasy trilogy, but it just did NOT hit at all had to dnf and i rarely do that. Think im looking for standalones tho if its a series you really believe id love id check it out.

Im willing to try something completely new and away from fantasy. Honestly just getting lost in someone elses world. Please no books that treat me like an idiot and explain everything to me or introduce a very interesting idea but then choose the more boring option. hint hint that one book that had like 3 different situations where things couldve gone an actual interesting direction but they chose the boring option . the characters shouldve grown a backbone and DONE THE THING. i dont think ive gotten over Rin from the Poppy Wars. aboslutely adored her determination and complexity and how she just Wanted to do it so she Did. our morally grey queen
