I recently finished reading Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palanhiuk and honestly I’m obsessed. In general, the media I like follows similar themes (societal critique, identity, morally complex characters, etc.) and often have a dark sense of humor or a campy quality to it.
For instance, my fav movies are Nowhere, Velvet Goldmine, Crash, Y Tu Mamá También and I also loooove Succession. So naturally I’m draw to stories of that sort!
I really don’t mind the genre, I’m open to reading both fiction and non-fiction. Simply looking for other authors —English or Spanish speaking— outside of Palanhiuk that explore all of the above 🙂
Oh and I know a lot of the examples I gave touch on queerness and/or have non-linear timelines, both those characteristics are prescindible to me in a story though.
