For context I’m currently working on a research thesis focused on the injustice and double standards women experience and I’m looking for books that explore these realities in a deep and meaningful way
I’m not interested in surface-level stories with just a "strong female character"I’m specifically looking for books that truly dive into societal pressures the inequality and the everyday struggles whether they’re subtle or explicit I’m open to different genres especially fiction memoirs or psychological/literary works but I’d prefer stories that genuinely explore these themes rather than just touch on them briefly
The goal is to better understand these experiences through storytelling and see how different authors portray them…I’m not looking for basic recommendations I’d love books that really stay with you and make you think!!
Thanks in advance to anyone who shares suggestions

This book is also largely about race but I think it might provide an interesting perspective for your research:
