I have a child in 5th grade who is reading at a 10th grade level. I gave her a book last year that had a spicy scene between 2 adults and she came out screaming just totally grossed out. It wasn’t a full on sex scene but it was spicy and she shouldn’t have read that. Since then i have read every book i have given to her, but it takes me so long to read because i hit mental blocks. is there a way i can just look at the book and know its rating? does the ISBN numbers maybe indicate something? such as ive noticed most kids book the ISBN number starts with a 1 or a 9. i think books should be rated for language and things like movies are. I dont want to refer to my phone for every book i think my daughter will like while im in a store. Thanks so much in advance!
