Every book I've found so far that has seemed interesting has turned out to be either YA or generally written for a younger reader, tiktok (smut), or is a book I've already read,
Bonus points for – philosophical and/ or generally alternative, untrustworthy characters/ narrator, old gods and monsters, more magic than sword and shield
My current reading habits are mainly weirdlit, horror and science fiction
Thanks for any suggestions!
Fantasy I've read – the hobbit, eragon, harry potter

Titus Groan, the first book in the Gormenghast series might interest you. A charlatan sneaks into an ancient castle full of crazy weirdos, lots of Game of Thrones-esque unlikely character connections.
The Last Unicorn is a modern classic that lives up to the hype, emo philosophizin’.
The Anubis Gates for time travel werewolf chase.
The Long Afternoon of Earth for post-apocalypse plant world wandering.
I’ve just started reading a new new book, The Works of Vermin, and am *really* liking it so far. An honest insect/monster exterminator working at the bottom (physical and socio-economic) of rot world.
