While I did enjoy the wind up bird chronicle’s and Kafka on the shore to me the cozy mysterious atmosphere of after dark really captures the vibe I have of Haruki Murakami. Secondly I’d have to say Something happened by Jospeh heller… it’s easy to understand why a book like catch 22 would be your claim to fame considering how fresh that type of black humor used in that setting was at the time..but to me Something happened has some of the most absurdly good writing I’ve ever read… though through the minds of one of the shittiest characters ever. What books have you read and thought ‘how is this not their biggest book”?
