I'm loving this retelling from the Cinderella stepmother's POV- the voice/prose are all 🔥. Any other retellings that have this kind of vibe? Usually, when I try retellings, I find the characters to be kind of dull and the prose just… meh. But this book is excellent.
And before you suggest Naomi Novik, I've tried, but just cannot get into her work. I feel too distant from her characters, if that makes sense.
