My twenties are firmly behind me and I’m much more emotionally balanced than I used to be, which feels like a loss sometimes – less intense lows, but more muted feelings of joy and happiness too. Talking to friends the same age they feel similarly, but it’s not a change that I’ve heard talked about much elsewhere.
I’m searching for books that look at getting older, and how this changes our perspectives on the world and how we relate to it (and feel within it). Happy for suggestions that cover older life stages as well. Can be fiction, non-fiction, autobiography, philosophy – anything!

STONER.
Gilead by Marilynne Robinson gives an interesting perspective of a man in his later years, relating with his young son.
