Hi, I'm looking for a speculative fiction book rec! Aka, the world is the same, but one element of magic or the way society is run changes how the plot runs its course. (Think Footloose or most Black Mirror episodes- still Earthly, but one tiny difference). Something along the lines of The Girl with the Silver Eyes, Crosstalk, or Scythe. I like the idea of seeing people living their everyday lives, but this one interference of magic of sci-fi elements alters the course a bit. If possible, lighter fiction that isn't so dark, please!
