I fear I've read all the good books in this world, specifically in the genre+romance mix (e.g., romantasy, romantic dystopian, etc.)

So I need you guys to pull through. I'm looking for a book that will leave me traumatized, but not necessarily because it's sad. I just need it to be that good. I mean a book that will have me kicking my feet and giggling at 2 a.m., then punching the wall, crying, and fuming in a split second. I need romance that leaves me ACHING and waiting for them to get together and screaming. HOWEVER, I also want a good balance of romance and plot. I feel like part of the issue I've had in the past is that the plot was great or the romance was great, but there wasn't really a good balance. I love both YA and adult books, so I'm also fine with NSFW books. Also, please no cowardly idiot FMCs pls🙏

Here are some examples of what I liked (assume whole series unless mentioned otherwise):

-Shatter Me (Warner in Ignite Me has my whole heart, also happy birthday (April 24)

    -The Empyrean Series

-Powerless (Powerful and Fearless left me traumatized in the best way possible)

    -Legend

    -Warcross

    -Crowns of Nyxia

    -Once Upon a Broken Heart

-City of Gods and Monsters (Only first book)

-ACOTAR (Only read first two books, but I like ACOMAF more than ACOTAR)

    -Red Queen

    -A Liar's Twisted Tongue

-So many more that I'm too brain-dead to name

man you really went through the whole romantasy catalog huh. since you liked the empyrean and shatter me vibes, maybe try some of the newer stuff that’s been blowing up tiktok recently – there’s bunch of series with that same enemies to lovers angst but in different settings

also if you haven’t done the fantasy romance that leans more adult, those tend to have better plot balance since they’re not trying to fit into YA constraints. the steam usually helps with that aching feeling you’re after too lol
