Why the heck did I read this book? Look, I'm not normally into college romance dark fantasy books. I don't even know when I got this book. Yet, there it was in my repertoire of books. I didn't really feel like going back to Wheel of Time so I gave it a read. Why not… what's the worst that can happen… right? RIGHT?

What hell is wrong with me?

Like seriously, this book! Of all things, this freaking book. Why'd I have to enjoy this book so much. This is the kind of trashy girl novel I'd stick my nose up at… and yet I really enjoyed it. Also… I'm a dude and I don't usually think much of smut… but this… HOT DAMN! Once I got started I could not put this down.

Slow Start

The first 5% of the book is a little slow. Basically everything before the boards the train is try. It's clearly set up and I gritted my teeth and bore with it. Then she boards the Hogwards express and enters the shadowy academia and I'm along for the ride.

Vague Spoiler Filled Summary Time

My summaries get long so I'm going to try and keep it brief in this review (for my own sanity mostly). Lilia watched her mum die and saw black worms wriggle out of her mouth. Traumatized and seeing visions of death, Lilia grows up and has to deal with occasional visions of her mothers death. Lilia hangs out with Trashy-girl who's always pushing her to do bad things but thankfully Lilia has two braincells to rub together and avoids Trashy-Girl's suggestions.

Lilia's professor commends her for a well documented thesis regarding a made up parasite. Lilia documented her mothers condition and it gets her a schollarship at Dracula… ahem Dracadia University. Lilia makes a friend on the train but is warned the boy is a manipulator by another women.

Lilia excells in school and soon meets the hunky professor of death Devryck (I'll call him Professor for my sanity). Everyone is into Hunky professor but there's rumours he killed a student, plus he's such a grouchy b@st@rd most people avoid him.

Lilia's step dad used the cash she earned for her step sister's tuition for various things. In a bind, Lilia needs cash and fast. Trashy-Girl suggests a voyerism site and to post a vid of her masturbating but in public. Lilia takes her phone to class, and records herself whilst Professor speaks. Of course, Lilia gets caught. Professor confiscates her phone, and in his office he sees the video. He sends it to himself and after returns the phone to her.

It turns out Professor is taking serious drugs… not narcotics but because he's dying and a side effect of the drugs is extreme horny-ness. Professor jerks off a bunch in this book. Moving on, there's a worm parasite which is the pivot upon which the story revolves. Professor infects this guy with worms and we get to see the parasite heal the Victim and make him strong and later the guy will loose his mind. Professor seems really evil… YIKES!

Various plot threads happen (this is a chunky book and the summary is already long enough). Lilia is drugged and the Professor takes her to his underground lab. She demands he employ her and he reluctantly agree's. The work together and another teacher… lets call her She-Teach is after the Professor's sweet sweet elephant package (if you catch my drift ha ha ha). She-Teach gives Lilia a hard time, suspecting they're together.

Meanwhile, one day Lilia forgets her bag in the lab and runs back inside. It starts to rain heavily. Lilia and Professor are caught in the rain overnight. By this time the Professor is able to feel as a side effect of his illness is numbness in the body.

Sleepy, and horny the two engage in sexual activity without actually having sex. Of course! It's a female written drama so every man has a have a horse length appendage (not that we haven't seen this a million times before). They delay s3x for various reasons but when it happens its climactic (he he he).

Their relationship grows in fitz and spurts. Professor collapses a bunch of times due to his condition and they find a herbal cure.

Then She-Teach enacts her plan after recording Lilia and Professor having sex in his car. Lilia is returned home and almost r@ped by the guy who Professor has been searching for. She knocks him out, Professor takes her to his home but no sooner has this happened when more drama unfolds.

She-Teach is tricked by Professors evil twin (yes… another trope). Various drama unfolds and Lilia finds herself on trial from a shadowy group called the Rooks. Professor convinces the rooks to make her a remember. Now Lilia is effectively rich as she has near infinite funding.

Story ends on a high note… with SEX! Yes they have another round of dominating sex and story closes… well almost. It turns out the evil twin is now an English professor (how the hell does a guy who's been living on the streets just become a professor? Ah whatever…) and now Lilia's step sis has the hots for her boyfriends brother. Ah… cool.

Look, as a writer I've written smut before and it usually makes me feel hot. I won't deny. Yet, when I read smut it's usually campy and doesn't give me as much as a tickle.

Yet this! Hot damn! I actually had to put the book down and pounce on my wife. Well, we're both grateful for this book now… ha ha ha

I don't know why but I really enjoyed this book. I'm considering some of Keri Lake's other books. If you guys wanna suggest more books like this I'm all ears. Thanks
