My wife and I love to listen to books together, and we would love some recommendations of what to listen to soon, preferably a series or several books form the same author so we have something to enjoy for a while. Some examples of books we love are “The Invisible Library” or “A tale of Mirth and Magic,” and we are currently enjoying “Just Stab me Now.”
Here is a list of things we love in a book
– detailed and natural world building
– healthy relationship dynamics
– cozy aspects to the book (like how wholesome the inn in “A Tale of Mirth and Magic is)
– competent characters
– good character development and growth
– if there is romance in the book, preferably not as much of a slow burn as “the Invisible Library” (6 books before the romance really started)
What we would like to avoid
– misogyny
– enemies to lovers
– unhealthy power dynamics
– anything that involves romantic underage
– anything where blatant disrespect is part of the relationship dynamic
– abuse, especially if it is normalized or portrayed in a good light
I appreciate any and all suggestions. If you could also include any trigger warnings (preferably non-spoiler) that would be good!
