Hi.
I don’t subscribe to any specific religious doctrine but I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
Other books I like (not necessarily related to this specific theme but since I haven’t read that much I should share what I did find enjoyable)
The City and the City
There is no Antimemetics Division
Some Vonnegut
Some Murakami
Jane Austen
Some Robert Anton Wilson
The God of Small Things
Station Eleven
Stieg Larsson’s Millennium trilogy
Tracks by Louise Erdrich
In the Skin of a Lion
Frankenstein
Crying of Lot 49 (haven’t dared Gravitys Rainbow yet)
I fully read through Hanya Yanigahara’s A Little Life but I did not enjoy it.
Everyone tells me to read Stephen King but he does not do it for me at all.
I’m more of a movie-person generally so I could post some movies I like with similar themes to the book. I wish to read more, I just think it’s hard to wade through everything. There are so many books and authors. I will check out more from Buehlman but I need more width I think.
Suspiria (I really like Luca Guadagnino’s version)
A Dark Song
A Field in England and Kill List (Ben Wheatley)
Resolution, The Endless (and more from Justin Benson)
Mandy
I enjoy themes of good vs evil, eschatology, conspiracy, occult, weirdness, redemption and justice.
Most often I’m fine with going dark and weird but I prefer if there is at least some kind of upturn at the end, however that may look.
For instance, I view the ending of Suspiria as good, I understand that not everyone does.
First time posting, I hope I didn’t break any rules.

Read the rest of Bhuleman, his entire bibliography is quite excellent
