I'm currently reading Onyx Storm, Finlay Donavon Crosses the Line and listening to Carl's Doomsday Scenario. I'm enjoying all of them but I can't get myself to pick up any of these books and finish them. It isn't being afraid of them ending, I have the time, and I'm not in a slump because I have picked up other books and finished them. I don't get why I have a block with these particular books that I *want* to read.

Has anyone else dealt with this? How did you get past it?

Move on. If not enjoying them then what’s the point. Millions of other books out there. Come back next year if you really want to

This happened to me with one of the Robin Hobb series. I kept trying to bull through it, but then I realized: I don’t actually want to read it. I thought I did, but I really didn’t.

So, are you sure you do want to read it?

    3. Trite but you might not be in the mood for them. Like passing up a preferred dinner option l ya know?

I experience the same thing with Beloved by Toni Morrison. Enjoyed a lot of things about it, but for reasons I couldn’t put my finger on just didn’t really want to pick the book up, despite being invested in the plot, enjoying the prose and having nothing about the book I disliked. Maybe just my mood at the time and I’ll give it another go some time
