I’ve been watching the good Netflix documentary “Best of Enemies: Buckley vs. Vidal,” and I’ve realized with some surprise that I’ve never actually read a book by Vidal. I intend to correct the oversight, but would like to hear opinions as to which book gives the best overall taste of what a Vidal book has to offer. Is it a political one like Washington, D.C. or one that deals with sex and social norms like Myra Breckinridge? Thanks for any input!
