I've been on a Tana French kick and burned through the Dublin Murder Squad series. What I love: the atmosphere, the slow dread, the deeply flawed but competent female investigators, the sense that the real horror is hiding inside ordinary small-town life.
I'm less interested in action-heavy or twist-every-chapter stuff. More interested in character and place — books where you feel something is deeply wrong before you can prove it.
What am I missing?
