I've been on a kick of reading short stories this year, and I'm really enjoying it, but I've noticed how many of the most celebrated short fiction writers are men, and I'd love to be reading more women! I'd love to hear some recommendations of short story collections by women.
I'm mostly interested in more literary stuff, but I'm open to SFF/horror elements (think George Saunders, not Andy Weir). Any time period is fine! Including some authors I'm into for a better idea of what I'm looking for:
Short story writers I've enjoyed: George Saunders, Lydia Davis, Torrey Peters, David Foster Wallace, Zadie Smith
Writers already on my TBR: Flannery O'Connor, Grace Paley, Joyce Carol Oates
