I’ve been looking for a good historical fiction book recently and came across good reviews for ‘lilac girls’, so would love your thoughts on it.
My only concern is that I don’t have a detailed knowledge of the world wars. Will I still enjoy this book and learn more whilst reading it? Or is it better enjoyed if you already have a solid understanding of the context?

You’ll be totally fine going in without much background knowledge – the book does a great job of providing context as you read. I actually think it’s better to discover some of those historical details through the story rather than knowing everything beforehand, makes it more impactful
