I just finished the 3 Fourth Wing books and I'm looking for a similar read but better written and also COMPLETED 😭 I can't fathom having to wait years to finish my read. I'll leave my likes below:
\*I'm fine with any romance trope as long as it doesn't become annoying (like the violet and xaden with the on and off was tiring especially by the second and third book.
\*I'm all for secondary character development. I LOOOOOVED Tairin and the Tairin and Andarna banter this probably carried the book. Ridic was by far by favorite secondary character.
\*I also like a solid world build, the only thing with FW is that the descriptions tend to get extremely lengthy but otherwise I loved that it seemed to have a solid world structure.
\*And I'm looking for something better written. Even though in FW everyone was 20+ they really all acted like children and the smutty parts of this book were unbelievably cringe.

The Priory of Orange Tree might be up your alley – fantasy world building is insane and characters actually feel like adults making adult decisions. Dragons are major players too so you’ll get that dynamic you loved with Tairin and Andarna but way more fleshed out
The Queen of the Tearling by Erika Johansen
– this is book one of three. I very much enjoyed this series. Heard they are coming out with a prequel. May not be exactly like Fourth Wing but it’s a great substitute
