Pretty much what is in the title. I also just read a book that hit me like a ton of bricks and left me staring at a wall long after finishing the last page. It was an amazing read, but I feel like I need something to offset it.
I was thinking of "A Confederacy of Dunces" but I am curious about other people's thoughts on it. Thank you!

You either ‘get’ the humor in *A Confederacy of Dunces* or you don’t. You may as well stop reading after 25 pages if you don’t find it funny.
I kept thinking: *This* won a Pulitzer prize? This is dumb.

I found Confederacy of Dunces to be too chaotic even though it was funny. I needed something a little more grounded.
Have you read The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Kulne. It had good characters and humor.
Its non fiction, but I always suggest “Anthropocene Reviewed” by john green. Its a collection of essays on the human experience, some tangible, others less so, some common, other rare. I find it to be incredibly comforting, and provides me with a great lens for looking at life when it putting me through the ringer. You might tear up a few times (I did), but it doesnt crush you, more cathartic
