i like to read a variety of books and never thought of myself as a picky reader before but i dnfed a bunch of books recently and i need some good recs. i think what bothers me are:

    • filler/empty sentences/paragraphs that have no substance
    • repeating the point over and over
    • lack of research (historical or location info) or writer writing about something they only have surface knowledge of
    • unnecessary cruelty
    • YA (?) although i enjoyed the witchstone by henry nefd
    • author reads their own audiobook
