I'm someone who generally loves reading fictional horrors and thrillers but now I really want to read about true life cases of bizarre/unsettling disappearances and unsolved mysteries
I want quality books that really delve into cases and where you can tell decent research has been done.

There’s this one about the Dyatlov Pass incident that will mess with your sleep schedule – nine experienced hikers found dead in the Siberian wilderness under absolutely bizarre circumstances. The author goes deep into every theory from avalanches to military cover-ups and the whole thing just gets weirder the more you dig into it
Also check out anything covering the Missing 411 phenomenon, those cases are genuinely unsettling when you see the patterns
