    Hi guys

I’m looking for books with a really unusual and kind of weird premise: the main character transforms into a creature that’s as far from human as possible — something ugly, grotesque, or just monstrously strange. The twist is that the character actually enjoys their new body and abilities.

On top of that, I’d love if the character is cool in terms of personality .

I know this might sound like a childish or silly book recommendation request, so sorry for that, but I really want a story that’s well-written, with a solid plot.

Fantasy, sci-fi, dark humor, or even philosophical themes are all welcome. Any suggestions?

You might actually enjoy The Metamorphosis by Kafka, even though it’s much more tragic and philosophical than empowering. For something closer to what you’re describing, Kaiju Preservation Society by John Scalzi has some fun creature/body-transformation energy and humor.

If you’re open to manga/light novels too, Overlord and So I’m a Spider, So What? fit this surprisingly well because the protagonists fully embrace becoming non-human and even grow more confident because of it.

Also Lives of the Monster Dogs is a really strange but memorable read that explores identity and monstrosity in a surprisingly thoughtful way.
