Having trouble finding something that isn’t romance-centric, which I tend to not like. I’m a sucker for characters getting beaten up by the narrative and then put back together by their loved ones. I’m hoping to find one that balances both sides. Stories that linger too long in angst can get either exhausting or bleak, and ones that stay in comfort feel too boring after a point too…
As for genre, I’m open to anything that has strong characters that would fit what I’m looking for. Sci-fi, fantasy, horror, mystery, realism, adventure, etc. etc.
