I’m looking for something that puts you in a vastly different perspective and an octopus is ideal. But really anything living in the ocean is also awesome if such a book exists.
Remarkably Bright Creatures is the obvious recommendation. But the octopus is in a aquarium, not the ocean. And the octopus is only one of the POVs. Fyi!

This is not a book, but “My Octopus Teacher” on NetFlix may be really helpful to you. I learned so much (and also cried).

Adrián Tchaikovsky’s Children of Ruin. Science fiction is that’s ok with what you’re looking for, including some truly weird aliens, but octopuses play a big part and much of the story is from their perspective.
