Finally done with my exams next Sunday, and I’ve got a solid 2-week break after that. It’s been ages since I properly read a novel, and I really want to get back into it.

Some of the last books I read and enjoyed were The Housemaid, Do Not Disturb (same author), The Sanatorium, and The Girls Who Disappeared.

Can you guys suggest some really engaging books in the genres of:

    • murder mystery
    • investigation
    • psychological thriller
    • suspense
    • spy/espionage thrillers (Indian or foreign)

I’d also love some genuinely good horror recommendations. I haven’t really read a horror novel that feels as intense or atmospheric as a good horror movie, so anything with a creepy vibe and a strong plot would be amazing.

TL;DR: Looking for addictive thriller/mystery/investigation novels similar to The Housemaid and The Sanatorium, plus good spy thrillers and genuinely scary horror books with strong plots.

tana french’s dublin murder squad series might be good fit for you, each book is standalone but they’re all solid police investigations with psychological elements
