I’ve read a lot of nonfiction lately but I’m trying to get back into fantasy, so everyone please tell me your epic fantasy recommendations! I really enjoyed Priory of the Orange Tree, Black Sun, The Traitor Baru Cormorant, The First Law, and The Poppy War, so recs for books like those would be helpful!

Have you read Lois McMaster Bujold? Her Barrayar cycle’s my favorite, though that’s more Sci Fi than Fantasy – but it has great world building, great characters and great plots.
But her “Curse of Chalion” is amazing, too – and Fantasy. Also epic world building and an amazingly constructed plot – and the main character is the perfect vulnerable self-deprecating and self-sacrificing hero.
