Hello there! Latley I've been trying to get more in to reading but latley nothing has been grabbing my attention.
Typically my favorite stories, be it TV shows/movies/story video games, are very character driven/focused. I also love romance but as its own genre I find it to be a bit shallow.
My favorite peices of media/ stories include:
The last of Us part 1 and 2
This is probably my favorite story of all time. The father daughter relationship dynamic with Joel and Ellie is so impactful. Very found family. Its also apocalyptic so theres an element of survival in there, but probably what I love most is how both games/stories pose deep moral questions and dilemmas. The trauma and grief of the second game is also very compelling to me.
Breaking bad
Everyone's favorite, but my favorite element is the relationship dynamic with Walt/Jesse, the psychological thriller aspect and dark drama. Walts decent into a evil person was just phenomenal.
The queens gambit
Wrestling with mental health issues/addiction
Death note
cat and mouse game/ psychological thriller.
Attack on titan
This one is alot to unpack as its a brilliant story but again I find the most value in the interpersonal relationships with in the cast, the mystery and plot twists, and the characters dealing with intense hardships and the addressing of what it means to be human)
Twilight/midnight sun
Please dont stone me, I know its a bad book, but what i enjoy about it is how absolutely dramatic it is and how intense the romance is. I'll also mention I found midnight sun to be a much better version of twilight in my opinion. I find it interesting how anxious and in his own head Edward is for a majority of the book.
The hunger games
Whats to really say this is an amazing book series, the survival, the trauma, the relationships within the cast, the rebellion its all so good.
Lately i just haven't found anything to scratch the itch like these stories have for me, but I'm super open-minded and I'm down to try anything!
Side note/ I'm familiar with Harry potter and I'm not really interested in reading the book series given the controversy so I figured I would put that out there.
