    Hello all,

I am going on a road trip with the husband and am looking for a good audiobook to listen to that we can both be interested in.

I am looking for non-fiction audiobooks

The more niche the content, the better, honestly.

We both really enjoy video games and psychology.

We're foodies, and we love history and politics (well, we dont love politics, but we enjoy learning about them).

Thank you for any and all suggestions ahead of time!

I hope yall are having the best day!

    1. Maybe some humor.

Non-fiction ***What If?: Serious Scientific Answers to Absurd Hypothetical Questions*** by Randall Munroe narrated by Wil Wheaton.

It consists of a series of questions on pop-sci and pop-culture, each answered in one or two paragraphs. The answers are hilarious in a dry-humored way.

An example question is: What would happen if you hit a baseball pitched at 90% of the speed of light?

Mary Roach, Malcolm Gladwell and Atul Gawande are all very interesting authors.

      Kitchen Confidential is also great.

Subculture Vulture by comedian Moshe Kasher… It’s a memoir exploring 6 eras of his life with history and background of each area: AA, SF rave scene, deaf culture, burning man, Judaism, and stand-up comedy. I just finished my second listen and I always recommend it to people because it’s so funny and informative!

The Big Oyster: History on the Half Shell by Mark Kurlansky might be good. My husband still talks about this one years after we listed to it.

    5. If you have an Audible account, you can get the Great Courses series. My favorite is How to Listen to and Understand Great Music by Prof. Robert Greenberg. Very entertaining and educational.

Red Dead’s History by Tore C. Olsson: The author is an American History professor who uses the video game Red Dead Redemption to talk about the history of the West. The audiobook is read by Roger Clark who played Arthur Morgan.
