I am thinking of a bittersweet story about a midlife-crisis man who abandons his western life and family and moves to a warm, somewhat undeveloped country, perhaps by the beach. He adapts to a simple, impoverished life, maybe smokes some weed. The story evolves around the local community and his interactions with them. A local reggae club maybe. He rediscovers himself, but there is some guilt. Eventually, his estranged daughter may visit him, leading to deep conversations. Asking for a friend. Thank you
