Just wondering if there are any books that an adult can read that’s like the frog and toad books? I’ve read shady hollow and those were pretty good and kinda similar especially in terms of talking animals.
those books hit so different as an adult tbh. you might dig the redwall series if you havent already – talking woodland creatures but with more adventure and depth than the kiddie stuff. also check out watership down if your ready for some existential rabbit drama. theres something about anthropomorphic animals that just works when you want cozy but not dumbed down

Basic suggestion but Watership Down is one of my all time favourites and I didn’t read it until my 30’s. I mostly read sci fi and horror and weird non-fiction. It’s just a great book.
