Can you guys suggest some good books for first-time fathers? I want something that teaches how to take care of babies properly, understand them better, support the mother, and generally become a good dad instead of just “figuring it out somehow.”

    Would appreciate beginner-friendly recommendations.

My husband and I are expecting our first baby and our friend leant him a book called Commando Dad by Neil and Tara Sinclair. I had a quick flick through and it looks useful. I’m a midwife so I know basically everything there is to know about newborns and I’d say it’s a good guide.

I’m no expert but as a lady who may still procreate, have you looked at what your partner is reading? Or what parenting decisions she is starting to make?

Given the burden of early decisions will be largely in her court as they involve her body, I wonder if the best support you can be is to be 100% on her side and behind her choices. So your research should be guided by her (while not putting more work on her plate if you get what I mean).
