I am a big non-fiction science reader, and I am looking for scientific books about human development and pregnancy. I am hoping for a book with a broader audience and not purely directed towards new mothers, but I am open to anything if it covers this subject. even if there are any books with good chapters on the subject, I would be interested!
also open to more sociological books about pregnancy and motherhood.
(I am not pregnant, just fyi)

Womb: The Inside Story of Where We All Began by Leah Hazard
Matrescence by Lucy Jones is excellent. I found the chapter on fetal microchimerism to be particularly enlightening.
