What I’m looking for:
- Psychological thrillers with strong emotional depth
- Subthemes like romance and trauma (not necessarily heavy romance)
Authors: any except Freida McFadden (already hv her books)
Books I’ve enjoyed (might give an idea):
- Behind Her Eyes
- The Housemaid
- Never Lie
- An Anonymous Girl
- Gone Girl
- The Silent Patient
- The Girl on the Train (less into murder-driven narratives in general)
What I’m not really into:
- Political-heavy themes
- Pure murder mystery / procedural detective-style stories
- Supernatural / haunted / paranormal elements
I prefer psychological thrillers where the focus is more on the mind, relationships, trauma, obsession or unreliable narration, with other themes kept secondary rather than dominant.

try “sharp objects” by gillian flynn – same author as gone girl but way more psychological and trauma-focused than murder mystery 🔥 the unreliable narrator thing is chef’s kiss 💀
