I’ve just finished reading Jojo Moyes’ One Plus One and I found a lot of it super relatable. I’m looking for similar books with a cheerful/upbeat main character who goes through hard times including poverty and the brink of losing everything and then gets her happily ever after. Could do with less puking though.

Where the Heart Is by Billie Letts has a main character who starts out as an abandoned pregnant teen but it’s surprisingly upbeat and def ends happy.
