My sister recently passed away and I don’t know what to do with myself at all. If anyone could suggest books surrounding grief/healing I’d appreciate it.
H is for Hawk by Helen Macdonald is a memoir written by the author after her father’s passing. It definitely deals a lot with grief and finding solace in the natural world. There’s a recent movie adaptation starring Claire Foy as well.
I haven’t read it yet but The Year of Magical Thinking by Joan Didion might be another worthwhile memoir
Fiction (these may offer a little bit of comfort too):
– Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman
– A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman
