Suggest me a book where the MMC would otherwise be like a loose cannon, doing-bad-things type (like criminal things or generally angry or violent), difficult or even scary for people to be with usually, but the female character is the one thing that calms him and makes him happy and pleasant, like he's a different person when she's in his orbit. Not in a manipulative way–just that it's like her presence in his life is more effective than any pharmaceutical antipsychotic he could be prescribed. Spice would be nice.
I'm not looking for the MMC to be a bad boy who just enjoys doing bad things or being slick…rather that he maybe has mental health issues or has a natural inclination for violence. Like a Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones, or Pope in Animal Kingdom.
