A little context:
While watching a video about the manga artist Junji Ito, the creator described his serialized manga series Tomie (1987), Uzumaki (1998), and Gyo (2001) as "the Father," "the Son," and "the Holy Spirit": the three works that best represent his career.
That gave me the idea for this post: I want you to tell me what the "Holy Trinity" of your famous authors would be—that is, the three best or most representative works in their bibliography.
Rules:
- Only recommend authors whose work you have read at least 10 titles.
- The author must also have at least 10 different published titles.
- Series and novels with sequels count as one title for convenience. The series must be complete.
- Examples: Grishaverse by Leigh Bardugo or the Jack Sawyer duology by Stephen King and Peter Straub.
- Novellas and novelettes are allowed.
- Plays, short stories, and nonfiction books do not count.
- If you want to include any of these categories, please add them as "I also suggest."
- This last part is optional: tell me (without spoilers) why you chose them.
No recommendations from the following authors, because I already plan to read them:
- Stephen King.
- Virginia Woolf.
- Brandon Sanderson.
- The Brontë sisters.
- William Shakespeare.
- Edgar Allan Poe.
- H.P. Lovecraft.
- Victoria Schwab.
- Agatha Christie.
- Isaac Asimov.
- Sade.
- Neil Gaiman (I separate the work from the author).
- Gabriel García Márquez.
Thank you in advance for your recommendations!
