I've been going through my TBR of books I actually want to read and while it's been great, the list is steadily dwindling. I'm open to at least trying most things but it's hit or miss. Some of my favorites along with what I've read this year:
- Idylls of the King, Alfred Lord Tennyson
- To Say Nothing of the Dog; Doomsday Book by Connie Willis
- Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett
- Books of Blood 1-6; Hellbound Heart; The Thief of Always; Damnation Game by Clive Barker
- Three Theban Plays by Sophocles
- Endurance by Alfred Lansing
- Into the Wild; Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer
- The Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco
- Infinite Jest by David Foster Wallace

Dan Simmons – the terror
You won’t be sorry you picked that up
Or anything by murakami and saramago
If you haven’t read Blackout/All Clear by Connie Willis, add those to your list. It’s one very long book, published in two volumes, so you’ll need both. The beginning wasn’t great for me, and I almost stopped reading, but get through the first few chapters, and then settle in for a very interesting, high-quality read!
